About the Family

This is a warm and welcoming high-profile family living just outside Hungerford. With three lively young children, their home is joyful and busy – definitely more “family lived-in” than pristine showroom! They’re looking for an experienced, unflappable Housekeeper to help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

It’s a fully staffed household with a nanny and PA already in place, so you’ll be joining a collaborative and respectful team. The family appreciate initiative, a great work ethic, and a calm presence who enjoys working in a home where children are very much part of daily life.

Role Responsibilities

This is a hands-on housekeeping role focused on maintaining a large, 10-bedroom home (though many of the bedrooms are guest rooms and not in daily use). Your main responsibilities will include the daily upkeep of the high-traffic areas: children’s bedrooms, kitchen, and shared living spaces.

Laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, and general tidying will form part of your day, along with occasional support in the kitchen – whether that’s family-style cooking or just lending a hand during busy mealtimes.

You’ll need to be adaptable, discreet, and comfortable around children. Flexibility to help with weekend cover on occasion would be a big bonus.

Ideal Candidate

Solid housekeeping experience in a private home, ideally with children around
Organised, proactive, and efficient, with excellent attention to detail
Unfazed by a busy household with young children
Confident with laundry and wardrobe care
Happy to help in the kitchen and prepare simple family meals when needed
Able to work independently but also happy to be part of a wider household team
Discreet, professional, and reliable
Open to occasional weekend support
Driver preferred, rural location
