A warm, welcoming family just outside Reading are looking for a German-speaking nanny to join them long-term. They have three happy, active children who are growing up in a bilingual environment, and they would love to find someone who can help encourage and nurture their German language skills in daily life.
The household is fully staffed, so the family is used to working with professional, team-spirited nannies. They would love to find someone caring, playful, and genuinely passionate about early years development.
About the Role
The role will focus on caring for the youngest child during school hours — planning fun, engaging activities in German to support language development — and helping with the two older children’s after-school routines. The family values a nanny who can combine a sense of structure with a fun, creative approach to learning.
There’s a strong emphasis on gentle encouragement rather than formal teaching: chatting, playing, reading, singing — making German a natural part of everyday life.
Some travel may occasionally be required, and flexibility during school holidays is appreciated (with salary continuing during family travel).
Ideal Candidate
- Fluent German speaker (native or near-native level)
- Experience working with toddlers and school-aged children
- Warm, positive, and engaging approach
- Confident working in fully staffed homes
- Driver with a clean licence (car provided for work use)
- Happy to support occasional travel
What’s On Offer
- £60,000–£70,000 gross per annum
- Option to live-in or live-out, depending on preference
